Riverdale Baptist narrowly slips past National Christian Academy

LARGO, Md. – Riverdale Baptist School squeaked past National Christian Academy (20-7) by a single point to win its 22nd game of the season by the score of 51-50 on Feb. 10 during a girls high school basketball match.

Riverdale Baptist senior forward Synia Johnson led her team in scoring with 14 points and accounted for four steals, three assists and two rebounds. The Lady Crusaders leaned on senior leadership from Kaylah Ivey and Elizabeth Martino. Both players scored in double-figures and combined for 23 points. Martino dropped three 3-pointers and shot 60% from beyond the arc.

The Lady Crusaders will take on Our Lady of Good Counsel (10-12) in Olney on Feb. 13 at 6 p.m. While NCA will get right back in action against Captial Christian Academy (10-12) at 6:30 p.m. in Upper Marlboro.
