Howard Bowling Set to Compete locally at the James Brown Invitational

WASHINGTON (February 13, 2020) – Howard University women’s bowling team is set to compete in the James Brown Invitational, hosted by conference rival Morgan State University (MSU). The three-day tourney (Feb. 14-16) takes place in Towson, Md.

Competition begins 10 a.m. Friday (Feb 14) at the AMF Towson Lanes (701 Southwick Dr, Towson, MD 21286).

LAST TIMEOUT

On Feb. 7-9, the women’s bowling team competed in the Griffin Baker Classic, hosted by Chestnut Hill College, where HU finished eighth overall after going 9-4, including 3-1 against ranked opponents.

MEET PREVIEW

The Bison compete in five baker style matches Friday (Feb 14) against Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) foes Bowie State University and Virginia State University, along with nationally ranked opponents No. 13 Sacred Heart University, No. 14 Mount St. Mary’s University and No. 18 Delaware State University.

Saturday (Feb 15), the team will see five traditional style matches versus Kutztown University, ranked No. 10 Duquesne University and No. 24 Wilmington (Del.) University and conference rivals Coppin State University and MSU.

Sunday (Feb 16) will consist of three best-of-seven baker matches to determine the final seed.

UPCOMING SEASON

On Feb. 21-23, Howard travels to the Sunshine State for the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Round-Up No. 2, hosted by Florida A&M in Pensacola, Fla.
