Defenders shut out Guardians, 27-0

WASHINGTON – Cory Royster caught some excellent action of the DC Defenders 27-0 rout of the New York Guardians at Audi Field in Washington D.C. on Feb. 15. The Defenders scored their second win of the season backed by an impressive performance from former Ohio State University standout Cardale Jones.

Jones threw for 276 yards and two touchdowns while former Washington Redskins wide receiver Rashad Ross had a game-high of receiving yardage after he hauled in four receptions for 95 yards. The Defenders currently lead the league in passing yardage with 511 yards behind the arm of Jones.
The (2-0) Defenders lead the XFL East and will travel on the road to face the LA Wildcats (0-2) on Feb. 23 at 6 p.m.
