2021 NCAA Men’s Soccer: Virginia vs Maryland

No. 11 Maryland men’s soccer remains undefeated after holding off rivals Virginia for a 2-1 victory Monday night at Audi Field in Washington, D.C.

After going down a goal in the first half, Maryland’s Ben Bender tied the game in the 60th minute by converting a penalty kick. Just 18 minutes later, Brayan Padilla fired a left-footed shot from outside the penalty area for his first goal of the season. Virginia played the second half with 10 players after a red card to Daniel Wright.

The Terrapins (4-0) will look to continue its hot streak as they take on No. 2 Georgetown on Saturday.
